Battle of the Bears

Hey everyone, it’s october. And you know what’s special about october?

It’s the month with halloween in it.

And yes, I know, halloween’s still almost a month away but what use is a holiday product review if it goes up on the holiday? I’m doing this early so that you have time to track down the items involved, should you feel the need.

Or maybe just to warn you what’s in store if you knock on my door this year.

Either way, I’m talking about gummy bears.

Three different brands and four or five different products, for a full comparison of every sort I’ve seen.

Celebrity Hot Wings

Hello again everyone, if you like hot sauce and you’re on the internet, you may well already know what I’m going to talk about today.

Hot Ones

Hot Ones.

Described as “The show with hot questions and even hotter wings.”, this unusually high production youtube series is becoming very popular.

Extract of Flavour

Today, everyone, I’d like us to take a look at another item from Grim Reaper Food’s gift box. Something that I didn’t want to talk too much about at the time, for fear of ruining the company’s biggest surprise.

2017-02-11 11.52.20

You see, what we have here may be a scary little bottle of extract but it’s not like the rest of its kind. It’s not about the heat.

No, unlike most extracts, the Grim Reaper’s Raging Goblin isn’t a concentrated resin of extreme chilli firepower. In fact, it isn’t concentrated at all. It is hotter than the chillies it was made from but that’s only due to the loss of their flesh.

Because what this product actually is is jalapeño juice. All the oils, both heat and flavour, from a good number of green jalapeños, mixed with a little bit of lime.

And it all comes packaged in a black-tinted aromatherapy oil bottle.

Birthday Blood

Surprise! It’s a sauce review on a thursday!

Why? Because it’s my birthday.

A year ago today, I tried what is probably the hottest extract-based sauce in the world and, because I really don’t know what’s good for me, I figured I’d make a tradition out of it.

I bring you Chilli Pepper Pete’s Dragon’s Blood.

Not one of the sauces that have gained the name in later years but the original. The legend. The old extract sauce I still hear tales about to this day.

The Holy Hot Sauce Trinity

Hello again everyone, today we’re taking a look at The Ribman’s sauces. All of them.

Because he doesn’t really make three different sauces, just the same one with slightly differing chilli content. And that chilli content doesn’t change the flavour anywhere near as massively as it did for the Melliculus Popping Candy.

But, while it is just three heats of one sauce, it’s a very interesting one that showcases a recent trend, allows me to explain some flavour science and provides an experience like little else.

If you don’t mind a bit of strong language, click that Continue Reading button and I’ll show you what I’m talking about.

Best Served Hot?

Happy tuesday all of you, today we’re going to look at the first of Grim Reaper Foods’ freebies, the Vengeance oil from their thai style gift box.

2017-03-17 13.13.29

It’s a chilli oil but, unlike most of the ones I’ve seen before, there’s a little more going on than just the chilli. This oil also has ginger and lemongrass for that authentic thai taste.

Hell in a Bottle

Happy solstice spice lovers, for you and not for me. Why? Because today I have to try this:

2016-06-21 17.39.01

You’ve been seeing a few things from the Chilli Pepper Company recently and this is why. Some time ago, I tried the original version of Hell… Unleashed and was not exactly impressed. They sent me a review box in the hopes that they could convince me give their second batch a go.
