Hey folks, it feels like I’m doing this almost every month now but here’s another two product review. A comparison, so much as there can be one, between two very different takes on a thai-style sauce.
One is a long awaited item from Devon Chilli Man, seen on my twitter midway through last year, and the other is one of the many I got from Grim Reaper Foods. Yet, despite being based on a thai sweet chilli, it’s not the last of the freebies from their thai-themed box.
No, that’ll have to wait just a little longer because Devon Chilli Man is the one with a green jalapeño sauce today. A green thai sweet chilli that he calls the Jalapeño Creaper, not because he can’t spell but because it also contains carolina reaper.
While the Grim Reaper shows us his Alchemy, another highly unusual sweet chilli sauce made using the lemon drop or aji limon chilli. A citrusy pepper that turns the sauce to gold, just like the alchemist’s dream.
Both are going to be at least a little stronger than your average thai sweet sauce but their unorthodox chilli choices also bring a unique flavour and appearance to the table.

Today’s offering from the East Coast Chilli Company is probably their most unique item – A rich, black, honey-based sauce that matches wonderfully with the equally dark label that adorns its bottle.
It is, of course, as its elegant red text tells us, their Midnight 21.

Instead, every tuesday will be a review day but don’t worry, I’ll still give you something tasty to cook up. Only it’s now going to be on the final weekend. The saturday or sunday upload slot that I’ve previously saved for the very occasional bonus dish.
And this gives me a little more flexibility with what I can show you, as well.
Previously, I’ve tried to keep at least close to one superhot item, one hot one and one mild or medium thing a month in order to please as many different heat tolerances as possible but now, with an extra slot opened up, showing off something crazy that won’t suit the vast majority of people doesn’t have to take the place of one of those.

Hello again spice lovers, this week we’re looking at a rather hot but also rather different sauce that I got for christmas, back when I still had a backlog of product samples to showcase.
Now I’ve just got a backlog of products I actually paid for. That I picked up because they were exciting to me in some way but couldn’t be talked about at the time due to scheduling.
The same reason I’ve left this review so late.
But that’s enough behind the scenes chitchat, it’s time to finally bring you the Unusual Chutney Company’s Fiendfyre:
An unusually green coloured product for something that claims to be mostly reaper, though it’s clearly not entirely green chillies as there are brown and even some slight reddish notes to the sauce.
